A man shot by an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper following a chase in Noble and Payne counties Thursday evening is recovering in a Tulsa hospital.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lieutenant, John Vincent said the chase began near Yale.  He says the OHP did not begin the pursuit but quickly joined along with other agencies.

Vincent said at one point the driver was able to elude law enforcement but the chase was resumed a short time later on Highway 15.

According to Vincent, the chase ended just after 8 p.m. on Highway 15 just west of Highway 177 southeast of Red Rock.

The man that was shot has not been identified.
