"Remington Bark" Charity Event Kicks Off This Weekend

Remington Park is set to host its inaugural “Remington Bark” dog celebration charity event on Saturday.

On Aug. 29, the night’s thoroughbred horse race card will share billing with a collection of activities on the Remington Park plaza, including a doggie photo booth, a dog wash, dog agility demonstrations and a dog costume contest.

Donations will be accepted for the photo booth and dog wash.

The night’s main event will be the dog races; where local pet owners will get the chance to enter their dogs to take part in races on the Remington Park homestretch, from specially made dog-sized starting gates.

The dog races are set to take place between live thoroughbred racing at the track.

The schedule of events includes:

6 p.m. - Hooters and Hounds Dog Wash with the Hooters girls

6 p.m. - Dog CPR demonstrations with Heartland CPR

7:30 p.m. - Agility course demonstrations with Twister Agility

8 p.m. - Dog costume contest
