Two Earthquakes Shake North Oklahoma

A small earthquake shook up residents near Perry, Okla., Sunday morning. And a second earthquake shook near Stillwater.

The first, 3.1 magnitude earthquake struck at approximately 8:53 a.m. Its epicenter was located 12 miles west of Perry, 21 miles east southeast of Enid, and 27 miles north of Guthrie.

It was about two miles deep.

The second, 3.5 magnitude earthquake struck at approximately 11:21 a.m. Its epicenter was located six miles southwest of Stillwater, and 18 miles northeast of Guthrie.

No injuries or damages associated with either earthquake have been reported.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely with quakes at magnitudes 4.0 and higher.
