Family, friends and members of his law enforcement brotherhood turned out to lay Sapulpa Police Capt. Trey Pritchard to rest Saturday morning. The husband and father of five was murdered in Midwest City along with his cousin, Jeffrey Grafton.

Pritchard was posthumously promoted to that rank during the services.

The service was reflective of a man who loved and serviced his community.

"It was very powerful," friend Donna Dixon McCoy said. "Good words to what the man was and stood for."

Pritchard, 46, was born in Tulsa and graduated from Sapulpa High School. He is survived by his wife Cari, six children and two grandchildren.

Pritchard served in law enforcement for 25 years, starting as a dispatcher at Sapulpa PD. He then worked for the Creek County Sheriff's Office before returning to Sapulpa to command his own squad.

The funeral is being held at the Sapulpa Public Schools Chieftain Center. Members of the Sapulpa Police Department served as pallbearers.

"Trey was a good man," Lt. Jamie Noe said. "He was a good officer and he was a good friend and we owed it to him to make sure he was honored. When we see a positive outflowing of support and love from the community it's certainly reassuring."

Jeffrey Grafton's funeral was held Thursday.

Pritchard and Grafton had driven to Midwest City after Grafton's son stole his father pickup, according to authorities. They tracked the stolen vehicle to a motel room that had been rented by the son, Johnny Grafton.

Both men were shot and killed. Johnny Grafton and his girlfriend Daphne Mason were arrested in the deaths. They are being held without bond.

Trey Pritchard's cousin, Jeffrey Grafton was laid to rest on Thursday.

Friends say before he died, Jeffrey Grafton was raising three children and taking care of his parents after a fire. They say Grafton had been a sheriff's deputy, but most recently was working as pharmacist.

He graduated in 1987 from SHS and served in the U.S. Marines during Operation Desert Storm.
