Missing Woodward Girls Found Safe

Authorities in Woodward have safely located two girls who were first reported missing with their mother after the woman failed to show up to a custody exchange with one of the girl’s fathers on Monday.

Authorities in Woodward have safely located two girls who were first reported missing with their mother after the woman failed to show up to a custody exchange with one of the girl’s fathers on Monday.

According to the Woodward News, Peyton Upchurch, 5, and her sister Kennedy Upchurch, 4, were found at a home south of Woodward along with their mother, 25-year-old Brittany Woolery.

The search for the girls began Monday afternoon. Woolery was supposed to turn Peyton over to the child's father on a temporary custody order on Monday, but she didn't show up, officials said.

Woodward News reports that Woolery is in the custody of the sheriff’s office. So far authorities have not said what relationship Woolery had to the homeowner of where she was found.
