CHICKASHA, Oklahoma -

A wild police chase plays out on the streets of Chickasha as an officer's dash cam roles. Police believe the driver of the car, Chris Bryant, was under the influence of something.

The chase started when Bryant couldn't quite keep his vehicle straight on the road. So, the officer tried to pull him over, but Bryant wasn’t about to give up easily.

"I heard the siren go by,” a resident said. "It was quick."

But the chase wasn't. It zigzagged all over the place. Bryant blew through stop signs.

"The police light was shining on my door, and it passed up by here,” a neighbor said.

Bryant made random turns down alleys, through lawns, and even between houses. He barreled through a backyard, hit a tree, jumped a curb, and then sped down the road. A few blocks later, his car took a nosedive after he hit an embankment. Then, the car landed in a ditch.

"I thought it was an ambulance,” Edna Sargent said.

It was a different kind of emergency according to Bryant. He ran, because he didn't have a driver license.

Police say Bryant tried to climb out of the window but couldn't get around the deployed airbag. The officer thought he was reaching for something, and told him to put his hands in the air. Bryant pulled away, and the officer pepper sprayed him in the eyes.

Bryant started obeying commands and was eventually taken to jail. He’s facing several charges including reckless driving, resisting arrest and driving under the influence.
