OKLAHOMA CITY -

While the 2016 presidential race is full steam ahead in Iowa and New Hampshire, one GOP frontrunner decided to make a stop in Oklahoma.

Senator Ted Cruz spoke Thursday in Oklahoma City.

It was expected that Senator Cruz would speak indoors at a luncheon; instead he pulled up in his tour bus and spoke in front of a crowd of nearly a thousand of all ages of voters. He touched on just about every topic.

With a crowded field of republican candidates making their best sales pitch to America, 18-year-old and first time voter Blake Bennett is weighing all his options.

"I've got it narrowed down to a few but I think it's too early," said Bennett.

One candidate in particular stands out.

"God bless the great state of Oklahoma," said Sen. Ted Cruz as he was introduced.

"It makes me proud to have someone like him running," said Bennett.

"To me, Senator Cruz tells it like it is," said one supporter.

"I think he's the one to get it done for us," said another supporter who drove over five hours to see Cruz. He stood on the hot blacktop and even through rain to listen.

"Stop financing radical Islamic terrorism," said Cruz of the nuclear deal with Iran.

"You know I think the first democrat debate is going to consist of Hillary Clinton and the Chipotle clerk," said Cruz on the Democratic Party.

"The first thing I intend to do in office is do away with every single illegal and unconstitutional executive action taken by this president," said Cruz.

Then after the speech, a quick picture and Blake may be sold.

"That's what I’m looking for in a candidate. Somebody that has a passion for this passion because if they have a passion for it they’re going to do their best to fight for it," said Bennett.

This stop in Oklahoma actually ends Senator Cruz’s seven southern state tours before he heads back up to Iowa.
