SHAWNEE, Oklahoma -

The family of a man stabbed to death at a Shawnee apartment complex is desperate for answers.

It's been more than two months and there still are no arrests or charges filed.

A 15-page autopsy report just released to the family reveals 41-year-old Keith Knight was stabbed at least 11 times.

The family said this was cold-blooded murder and they believe they know who did it.

“I still have a hard time, so it’s not easy,”  Tiffany Padilla, a close friend said.

And what happened at a Shawnee apartment complex on June 21 is still somewhat of a mystery.

“He was murdered. Keith’s life is gone. His children were robbed of their father and this man is walking around free like nothing ever happened, living his life. It’s not fair,” Padilla said.

The family is being told several different stories.

“They’re saying self-defense because he supposedly hit this woman,” Padilla said.

But the stories just don't add up and Knight would never hit a woman, Padilla said.

On the night of the stabbing, police say Knight and a female friend were coming from a bar and ended up at the Cimarron Terrace apartments.

“There has to be people that were at the bar that saw what was going on,” Padilla said.

When police arrived to the complex, Knight was dead at the top of the stairs. He had been stabbed multiple times and Padilla said they know who did it.

The family wants the man arrested and charged with first degree murder.

“If he’s okay, that he can go and kill someone, and, you know, have no remorse or guilt for it, he’s going to do it again,” Padilla said.

Pottawatomie County District Attorney Richard Smothermon told News 9 he is working to set a meeting with Keith Knight's family, but says he will not be releasing any new information until then.
