EDMOND, Oklahoma -

A high speed chase through the streets of Edmond came to a halt as the suspect slammed into a teenage driver then hit a pole.

It happened near 2nd and Broadway, and another 16-year-old who was stopped at the light caught some of the incident on her cell phone.

“I was having waffles with my cousin,” Katelyn Patton said. “It was after church.”

Patton's Sunday brunch led to an impromptu movie that played out right in front of her.

“It all looked like it was happening in slow motion like I’m watching a movie,” she said. “It was like an exact movie scene.”

As she left the coffee shop, she heard sirens.

“I saw a navy blue truck speeding like going a hundred miles an hour toward me,” Patton said. “I was like ‘Oh, my gosh. I’m about to get hit.’”

She didn't, but someone else did.

“This little car gets in the way of the truck, and he hits her, and her car skidded out of the way,” she said.

The driver of the truck hit a pole at the intersection.

“He lost control of the car, and then he ran into the pole, and then he jumped out of the car out of the passenger side window and started to run,” Patton said.

He was bloody and banged up from the crash, but Nathan Green didn't get far.

“Then the policeman jumped out and pulled out his gun,” Patton said. “The guy crouched down. I was like ‘He’s about to start shooting. I thought he was going start shooting around him. So, I ducked my head.”

Green stopped dead in his tracks.

“He tried to start running, and he looked behind him, and I think he saw the gun and was like ‘Oh, no,’” she said.

Green was treated for his injuries and is now in jail. He had an outstanding warrant from another county, and the vehicle he crashed was reported stolen.
