OKC Woman Arrested For Neglect After Boy, 5, Found Wandering Alone

Oklahoma City police were alerted to a 5-year-old little boy wandering around a metro hotel alone. It happened Thursday night near NE 50th St. and Lincoln. Police found an open hotel room, and arrested the woman inside.

The good news is this little boy is safe and sound and back with his family. The bad news is police found drugs in the room he was supposed to be staying in.

Police were called to the Lincoln Inn Express hotel and suites just after 8 p.m. Thursday after someone here noticed the little boy wandering around outside. The boy was taken to the office. And police started going door-to-door to try to figure out which room he was staying in and where the adults were who were supposed to be taking care of him.

Police did finally find one of the units with a door cracked open and inside they found 31-year-old Amy Michelle Drennan.

Police say there was no food or children's clothing in the hotel room, but there were plenty of pills and a bag full of marijuana. Drennan was booked in for both drug possession and child neglect. 

The police report states Drennan told one of the boy's relatives that she thought someone else was supposed to be watching over the child, but she did admit that she had been playing with the child at the hotel pool and then just fell asleep.
