A 21-year-old woman was taken by Life Flight to a Tulsa hospital after a boat crash near Pier 51 on Keystone Lake around 8 p.m. Saturday.

The woman has head injuries that are not believed to be life threatening, according to park rangers.

Alysa Cooper of Sapulpa was a passenger in a boat that was idle on the water. Another boat approached and may have had problems with its throttle controls. It tried to avoid the other boat, but instead struck the idle boat and injured Cooper, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol collision report.

Troopers say Kylah Nelson, a 26-year-old Tulsa woman, told them the throttle somehow became inoperable and she could not avoid hitting the other boat. Kylah Nelson, passenger Morgan Nelson, 25, and a 5-year-old passenger, who was not identified due to age, were uninjured.

Kylah Nelson was cited for the collision.

A man on the idle boat was given a field sobriety test by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol for operating under the influence. He was cuffed at the scene.

Jeremiah Holly also had his boat towed for non-registration. Holly, a 22-year-old Sapulpa man, was taken to the hospital for a possible head injury. Troopers did not know if he would be admitted, the collision report states.

Cooper was admitted to a Tulsa hospital in serious condition with head and neck injuries, according to OHP.
