I remember watching the morning of June 16th when Donald Trump threw his hat into the ring for President.
About halfway through his speech, I hit the record button on my DVR because I knew I was seeing something very different.
Half the time I was chuckling at Trump's bombast, but what kept me watching was his brashness, his raging self-confidence, and even his political incorrectness.
But I certainly wouldn't have predicted his campaign would take off like it has, and that he would be leading the other Republican candidates in the polls.
Some say no way Trump can win, they said the same thing about a Hollywood actor back in 1980.
Trump's occasional ready, fire, then aim, moments seem to have captivated many voters who are obviously tired of the overly rehearsed politician speak. And if you take a shot at Trump, get ready because he's going to come back at you with both barrels, shouting you down if necessary.
Some other candidates have complained about the "tone" Trump brings to the campaign, but voters seem less concerned about tone and more impressed by attitude.
A few of the candidates are even learning from Trump, they're getting bolder, and not backing down when confronted about it.
It all sets up to make the 1st Republican debate August 6th very interesting.
