Burglars Steal 14 Firearms From NW OKC Home

More than a dozen guns and rounds of ammunition are stolen from a northwest Oklahoma City home.

The crime is caught on camera, and now the victim is worried about what might happen.

The victim told News 9 the burglary happened while he and his wife were on vacation.

At least 14 guns, including assault rifles, were stolen out of the couple's home, and they said the burglar knew exactly what he was doing.

“He’s scouting things out and he’s looking to see if anybody’s home,” the victim said.

This father who did not want to be identified, isn't talking about a random burglar.

“They just zipped a hole in the fence and then they’re going to climb in,” he said.

He's showing News 9 surveillance video of who he believes is his 22-year-old son breaking into his home near NW 122 Street and Western Avenue with three other men. 

“I can tell by the way he cranes his neck, I can tell by the hump in his back when he bends over right here. I can tell. I can tell everything,” he said. “That was a surprise that he robbed here. It was really a surprise.”

And the burglar knew exactly where to get several handguns, high powered rifles, multiple rounds of ammunition, and make a run for it.

According to the video, the guns are tossed out of the victim's back door in the video.

“The guns and the ammunition out there are extensive, and a lot of people could get hurt, and I fear that these are going to gangs,” he said.

Which is his biggest fear.

He hopes police get the stolen guns and ammo off the street before it's too late.

“There’s a couple of heavy hitters. There’s an AKA and an AR in there,” he said.

Oklahoma City police say the investigation is underway.

The victims tell us more than $8,000 worth of jewelry and silver were also stolen out of the home.

Del City police are investigating a similar case which may involve the same burglar.
