Bruce Sanchez’s workshop started in the garage. But his science of suds spread throughout his Edmond home.

“When the snowball gets rolling with the craft beer and the home brewing, you can get consumed pretty quickly in it,” said Sanchez.

The engineer started 22 years ago with a home brew kit. He now bottles about 20 different beers a year, many of them competition winners.

Understandably, this “Brainiac of Barley” makes friend fast, just spend a little while with him.

Since free tastings were kind of assumed, News 9’s Karl Torp didn’t have trouble finding help for the story!

Turns out Bruce has been the neighborhood’s most popular guy for a while.

“You’ll get all kinds of positive feedback from the free beer you are giving all of your friends,” said Sanchez. “So you’ll want to make some more.”

But, this home brewer is leaving home next year.

Sanchez is turning a building near NW 10th and Broadway into the "Twisted Spike Brewery and tasting room”.

“It is absolutely exciting and terrifying at the same time. I can take all those receipts over the last 20 years and share them with everybody else,” said Sanchez.

In the meantime, he'll share his pursuit of perfection over another pour.
