The U.S. Marine Corps says it forbids former military members like “Oath Keepers” from “standing guard” outside area recruiting centers. It’s a directive one Oklahoma State Representative says is criminal.

Earlier this week, members of “Oath Keepers” showed up at area Navy and Marine recruiting centers to guard the recruiting offices.  But Wednesday, a Marine public affairs spokesman told News 9 they don’t want the help.

State Representative Lewis Moore is an Army veteran, and said something was very wrong. “This is tantamount to treason by somebody in the federal government who is charged with the responsibility as citizens of these United States.”

State Representative John Bennett is a Marine, and says he “supports and appreciates” what the “Oath Keepers” were trying to do.

All of this comes six days after four Marines and a Navy officer were killed in an attack at a military center in Chattanooga, TN.
