About six months ago, William and Rachel Rieg's daughter passed away at a hospital in Oklahoma City.

“It’s just really hard,” Rachel Reig said as she fought back tears.

Norah was born at 1 pound 2 ounces during an emergency C-section at 26 weeks. Then, she spent 132 days in the NICU.

“It’s worse than a roller-coaster. It’s like the worst roller-coaster you’ve ever been on, really. You have your highs, they are high and when you have your lows, they’re really low,” Rachel Reig said.

The baby's lungs never matured and doctors told the Reigs that Norah would not make it.

“She was alive but she was suffering,” Rachel Reig said.

The couple decided to withdraw support, and it's still a very tough subject to revisit.

“It’s a place I can’t go back to right now. One day,” William Reig said.

One day, after time has helped them heal, they'll have something else to help soothe their broken hearts - beautiful portraits of their precious baby girl.

“The photos, they’re just priceless,” Rachel Reig said.

Amy Shout took the photos of Norah in the hospital after they withdrew support.

She's part of a worldwide nonprofit, called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, where volunteer photographers help families who've lost a baby.

The Oklahoma City area currently has two photographers that are part of the nonprofit that provide those services. Shout said they’re in desperate need of more volunteers in the metro.

“It’s not an easy task, but I know that in the end that I can provide a gift to those families that nobody else can and help them with their grieving process and eventually have something to remember their baby by,” Shout told News 9.

She's asking other photographers to dig deep for couples like the Riegs.

So when the time is right, they'll have the photos they deserve to cherish their child forever.

“One day I think we’ll be able to look at them and be just happy. But I am really glad that we have them,” Rachel Rieg said.

The Riegs are expecting again. Rachel Rieg is due at the end of January.
