Two Oklahoma City residents were killed when their car had a blowout on the Turner Turnpike near Bristow. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports the fatal crash took place just before 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18 on Interstate 44.

Robert and Judith Boone were eastbound in a 2008 Infiniti when one of their tires blew, according to a collision report. Robert Boone was driving.

Troopers say he lost control of the car and the vehicle swerved a couple of times before going through a fence, hitting one tree and then striking another. The car overturned on its top and caught fire, the trooper's report states.

Robert Boone, 67, and 74-year-old Judith Boone were pronounced dead at the scene by Creek County EMS.

The trooper said the driver was in apparently normal condition at the time of the crash which was caused by "equipment failure."
