A suspect tries to fight off an officer during his arrest. When that didn't work, the suspect started making threats on the officer's life.

The entire incident was caught on camera.

Chickasha police have been wearing body cameras for two weeks, and say they cameras have already proved their worth.

During an arrest on July 13, a body camera what happened when an officer tried to stop a street fight.

"When the officer got a hold of him there was a little scuffle that ensued," said police Lt. Scott Weaver. " The video where it gets kind of shaky is where he has a hold of the guy to keep him from punching."

The body camera is actually knocked to the ground as the officer takes Ora Lee Lenville into custody.

He's arrested for public intoxication and assaulting an officer.

Another crime is added to his booking sheet when he threatens to kill the officer while being transported to the Grady County jail.

"Whenever someone wants to say that something occurred a certain way or an officer said something the camera dispels that. It's video, it can't be twisted or altered in anyway," Weaver said the body cameras will help provide evidence for prosecution. "A jury is able to look at it and say this is exactly what happened."
