A mother is looking for answers in the murder of her teenage son.

He was shot and killed two and a half months ago, just blocks from his home.

Midwest City Police now believe someone was with the Spencer High student when he was murdered.

It’s 77 days into this investigation, police are confident 18-year-old Christopher Johnson was with someone when was he shot and killed.

Since April, police have had people come forward with information, but so far not enough to lead them to a suspect.

“He was the joy of my life,” said Chris’s mom, Ayesha Taylor in April. “He was my only son.”

It was on the night of April 20th when Ayesha Taylor received a phone call from Midwest City Police.

Her son was shot and killed not even two blocks from his home.

“Everybody is really in shock, like Christopher?” said Taylor.

We sat down with Ayesha a week after her son's murder.

Police say Chris was walking in the 1200 block of Spencer Rd. when he was shot, right across from ESA Park.

As far as his mother knows, and even police, Chris had no known enemies or a criminal record.

Investigators are still trying to figure out why he was a target.

“We’ve never heard him get into it with anybody,” said Taylor.

Chris’s mother is being told there was some type of altercation between her son’s friends and some other guys that night at ESA Park. She says someone was upset Chris didn’t get involved.

It’s why police don't believe Chris was alone at the time of his murder.

“We found evidence and reasons to make us believe that there was somebody else there,” said Maj. Robert Cornelison, Midwest City Police.

And that person could be a suspect in this case.

As police continue to search for solid leads, they're urging those who know something to come forward.

“There’s a friend out there. There’s somebody out there that has heard something or has seen something, maybe was possibly there, and that’s who we need to come forward,” said Maj. Cornelison.

At the start of the investigation, police were looking for at least two trucks seen nearby the crime scene and wanted to question those drivers. Police say those trucks are no longer a part of the investigation.
