More than three dozen cows, many starving, hurt and some stuck in the mud were confiscated.

Animal Welfare moved in rounding them up across 25 acres in South OKC.

Now their owner is angry.

News 9 was told some cows were in such bad shape they couldn't even move, and some didn't make it.

There were animals dead on the property.

Animal Welfare says it has been trying to get the owner of the cattle to take care of them for quite some time.

“I’m not going to argue with you sir, okay. We’re going to go do our job. You’ve got your court order,” the cattle owner was told.

The cattle owner arrived on his property Thursday shortly after the Animal Welfare Field control manager and his crew.

He wasn't too happy.

More than 41 of the man's cows had to be rounded up and taken in.

“We’re trying to round them up along the fence line to come around here to get them in these cattle troughs,” said Field Control Manager, Trace Lyons.

But that wasn't easy.

The cows were spread across more than 25 acres, some in worse shape than others.

“They’re thin. They’re thin for the type of cows they are. They’re way too thin. Some of them are injured,” said Lyons.

In May, the entire area was flooded and Lyons says the cows were never removed leaving several with severe injuries.

“And they were just left here, and they suffered for that,” said Lyons.

And Lyons said his people did everything they could to let the owner know what needed to happen before something like this happened.

“He failed to comply,” said Lyons.

A judge's order was signed Thursday morning to have the cattle removed.

The cows are being examined by a veterinarian. After the examinations, OKC Animal welfare will prepare its case and turn it over to the District attorney.
