Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation arrested an Alfalfa County commissioner and his wife Wednesday night after serving a search warrant at their home.

According to the OSBI, agents arrested Alfalfa County district one county commissioner, Doug Murrow, and his wife Brandelynn Murrow at the couple’s home in the 400 block of S. Kansas in Cherokee, Oklahoma.

Earlier in the day, OSBI agents, District 26 District Attorney’s Office investigators, agents with the Bureau of Narcotics, and Alfalfa County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a search warrant at the couple’s home. Doug Murrow was arrested for giving a firearm to a convicted felon and possession of a controlled dangerous drug within 1000 feet of a school.

Brandelynn Murrow was arrested for possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction and possession of a controlled dangerous drug within 1000 feet of a school. Both were booked into the Alfalfa County jail.

A judge released Doug Murrow on his own recognizance and set Brandelynn’s bond at $5,000.

In mid-June, the Alfalfa County district attorney requested OSBI investigate potential criminal activity by the county commissioner.
