Oklahoma City Police are looking for two men who broke into a Northwest Oklahoma City bail bond business and took a safe containing more than $20,000 in cash.

It happened just before midnight Saturday, June 27, at Hound Dog Bail Bonds at NW 8th and Classen Blvd.

The business had both people and dogs inside the business at the time.

One of the brazen thieves actually pushed a 13-year-old that was staying at the business, before they locked the door. That teenager watched as the robbery took place on one of the computer monitors, since the business has an indoor and outdoor surveillance system.

Surveillance video from inside Hound Dog Bail Bonds shows the first guy going to two interior office doors and locking them. He then makes a bee line straight for the safe. You then see his accomplice run in the side door too. He's wearing a scarf over his face and has gloves on his hands. The two proceed to carry the safe out of the business.

The crooks were seen taking off in a light colored car.

Steve Snyder owns Hound Dog Bail Bonds. He says the business runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Steve and his family not only work there, they live there too. They still can't believe the thieves pulled off the heist and that nobody was hurt in the process.

“They put their hands on a 13-year-old and shoved him out,” said Julie Spencer, who works and lives at Hound Dog Bail Bonds. “Thank goodness they didn't have guns and everything is ok!”

Steve and Julie think the thieves somehow managed to unlock the side door, or managed to find a key. They also wonder if it's an inside job.

“I feel like it’s somebody that we probably have sat down and talked to, that we helped them,” said Spencer. “Whether it’s a client, a cosigner, friends of somebody that was in here - it had to be somebody who knows a lot about us.”

The safe the crooks took contained not only money, but also a gun.

“We can replace the money,” said Spencer. “We will work hard, we will keep going but the fact the kids are ok that's what really matters.”

The babysitter kicked in the door trying to stop these thieves, but it was already too late. The thieves were in and out in less than a minute.

If you have any information concerning this crime you are urged to call Crimestoppers at 235-7300.
