ODOT is hosting an emergency meeting on Tuesday, trying to figure out how to repair some of the roads heavily damaged in last month's storms.

It's no secret many Oklahoma roads are in bad shape. The Oklahoma Transportation Commission will have an emergency meeting, so commissioners can get an up-close look at some of the worst roads in our state.

The hope is ODOT will speed up contracts to fix them.

You'll remember just 12 days ago along I-35 in Murray County, rocks and boulders were sliding down the rock face and onto the northbound lanes, shutting the highway down in the Honey Creek Pass between Davis and Ardmore.

ODOT will consider two different contracts to not just remove the damaged rock formation but also stabilize the rock face. Of course their main concern is to prevent future slides.

Work could take up to two months before all lanes of I-35 are fully reopened.

The transportation commission will also consider emergency bridge repairs to US-70 in Carter County and SH-89 near Ringling in Jefferson County.

There are also concerns about a washed out portion of SH-78 in Bryan County.

The emergency meeting will be at 10 a.m. at ODOT on N.E. 21st Street. It is open to the public.
