What started as a traffic stop for unbuckled seat belts led to a police pursuit and ended with two arrests on the southwest side of the metro, Monday morning.

An Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy first spotted the vehicle, gold Honda Civic, driving in the area of SW 44th St. and S. Western Ave. around 11:30 a.m. The deputy noticed the people inside were not wearing their seat belts, but when he tried to initiate a traffic stop, the suspects took off.

The chase only lasted a few miles, ending in a residential neighborhood near SW 25th St. and S. Barnes Ave. Two women were taken into custody at the scene. Their identities have not been released at this time.

Inside of the vehicle, deputies found marijuana and prescription medication. Exact quantities are not known. The sheriff's office is still investigating.
