The recent flooding cut off access to Cross Point United Methodist Camp in Kingston, Oklahoma, on Lake Texoma near the Texas border, turning the peninsula into an island with no bridge.

Leaders couldn't find another camp, so they created "Island Camp" at Cross Point for the older kids.

On Monday, June 23, using 11 canoes and a pontoon, 100 campers and staff member floated nearly a half a mile over to Cross Point.

They made more than 30 trips back and forth and within three hours, the campers were all safely across and ready for camp.

Everyone wore life jackets and life guards were posted up along the route.

The camp can handle a medical helicopter landing in case of emergency.
