29-Year-Old OKC Motorcycle Driver Killed In Crash

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) said a 29-year-old Oklahoma City man died Saturday in a crash on Interstate 44 just north of Interstate 240.

 The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) said a 29-year-old Oklahoma City man died Saturday in a crash on Interstate 44 just north of Interstate 240.

It happened at 10:23 a.m., according to OHP.

OHP said Giovanni Jesus Sanchez was driving a 2000 Yamaha when he ran off the right side of the roadway and the bike flipped, throwing Sanchez from the bike where he hit his head on an attenuator, or crash cushion.

Medical personnel said Sanchez died at the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation. 

According to OHP's report, the driver's condition was normal. His helmet was not in use, OHP noted.
