People in one Norman neighborhood are on alert. There has been a lot of flash flooding over the past few weeks, and one neighborhood is taking precautions to protect their homes.

It may not be doing anything now, but it sure has in the past. The folks on Midway Drive in Norman haven't forgotten.

"It got in our house last month. Luckily we had flood insurance," Sean Marley said.

Now they also have sandbags, and a lot of them.

"We stack them in front of the garage door so that they're ready if I need them," he said.

People who live in the area say it floods all the time. It happens so much you can see where the water has washed away dirt from underneath a home's foundation.

"This drain over here down the street gets backed up whenever its rains," Marley said.

It then overflows and floods the neighborhood.

"The water came into the house. So we had to switch out the carpets and stuff," one resident said. "It actually came into the house."

The water may not be knocking on doors just yet, but if it does, it has a few obstacles to pass through before it gets inside any of the homes.
