Residents near Perry may have felt the jolt of a moderate-sized earthquake near town, Tuesday afternoon.

A 4.2 magnitude quake rumbled around 2:17 p.m., 13 miles west of Perry, or about 56 miles north of the Oklahoma City metro, at a depth of just over two miles.

So far, there are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.

According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
