OKLAHOMA CITY -

The Oklahoma City Dodgers built a six-run lead and Joe Wieland pitched five shutout innings in a 6-4 win against the Nashville Sounds Saturday night in front of a sellout crowd of 10,619 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Dodgers won a fifth straight game to tie their season-high winning streak and took a 3-0 lead in their current series against the Sounds.

League-leading Oklahoma City reached the 40-win mark, improving to 40-21 on the season after building a 6-0 lead through five innings.

Starting pitcher Joe Wieland (5-3) got the win for the Dodgers, holding the Sounds scoreless over five innings and allowing five hits. He did not issue a walk and recorded five strikeouts. Chin-Hui Tsao picked up his fourth save of the season.

The Dodgers scored first for the second straight game.

Darnell Sweeney led off the bottom of the first inning with a single and later scored on a two-out, RBI double by Kyle Jensen for a 1-0 edge.

O'Koyea Dickson's RBI single to center field boosted the OKC Dodgers to a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning.

A four-run fifth inning followed.

A RBI single from Austin Barnes put the Dodgers in front by three runs. Oklahoma City then tacked on three more runs in the inning on a RBI single by Buck Britton and two-run double from Andy Wilkins for a 6-0 advantage.

Nashville (29-34) scored twice in the seventh inning. Alden Carrithers hit a grounder to second baseman Hector Olivera, whose throw to first base sailed into the Sounds' dugout for an error and Bryan Anderson scored. Carrithers later scored on a wild pitch, cutting OKC's lead to 6-3 in the seventh inning.

A RBI single from Niuman Romero in the top of the ninth inning cut Oklahoma City's lead to two runs and marked the first run allowed by Dodgers reliever Tsao in nine appearances.

Nashville starting pitcher Zach Neal (5-1) was pegged with his first loss of the season, allowing six runs on eight hits with one walk and one strikeout over 4.1 innings.

The Dodgers wrap up their series against the Sounds at 6:05 p.m. Sunday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
