OKLAHOMA CITY -

The arrest of a robbery suspect shut down Interstate 40 near MacArthur for about two hours early Saturday morning.

Around 1 a.m. police spotted the suspect's blue truck and said he refused to get out of the vehicle.

That's when officers shut down the interstate in both directions.

"There was a period of time when the officers were concerned the subject might be armed," Lt. Alan Burgett with Oklahoma City police said.

The suspect eventually surrendered and police did not end up finding a weapon. No names have been released.
