An eviction with a machete-waving tenant ended in multiple arrests on Thursday in Tulsa.

Police say they've been called repeatedly to a business near 71st and Mingo as the complex tried to evict a renter. The property manager says the renter claimed he was putting in a tuxedo rental shop, but instead, it's been a rental nightmare.

News on 6 received an exclusive tour of the damage.

"We've got a crack pipe here that we found,” property owner Carl said.

He said Sam Hibri moved in last November but never opened a business. Carl said he got repeated complaints about noise, fighting, a constant flow of people and massive destruction.

"They were sleeping in here, every room is damaged, every room in here," Carl said.

After several eviction notices, Carl came Thursday to change the locks, and that's when four people sped up in a car and one had a machete, he said.

"One of them came out waving the [machete] and I called the police department and they came out," Carl said.

Police have been to the spot often, they recognized people inside as having warrants, but everyone refused to come out, so Carl unlocked the door and officers started making arrests.

Hibri was arrested for harboring fugitives with warrants. Records show he has several felony and misdemeanor convictions dating back to 2003.

"I'm being arrested for BS," one of the suspects said as he was taken into custody.

A woman also went to jail, but not until she screamed at officers the entire way to the patrol car.

Carl said the suspects also destroyed evidence.

Carl: "They flushed stuff down the toilet with the bleach here to destroy it."
Reporter:
"You can still smell the bleach."
Carl: "Yes."

Carl found bags full of syringes, doors had been ripped off hinges and were piled on the floor, mirrors broken and trash everywhere. Someone also had written crazy things about pregnant women and lawsuits on the outside of the window.

Carl said the thousands owed in back rent is nothing compared to the cost of repairs.

The owner will have to do a total gut job and remodel before they rent to the next tenant.
