OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City Police said a K9 unit and Air One helped them find two people wanted in an armed robbery early Wednesday morning near N.W. 16th and Tulsa.

It was around 1:30 a.m. when this all happened. Police caught up to those suspects about a mile away from where an officer first tried to pull someone over for a traffic violation. According to police, the driver took off. That's when a chase began.

Police were talking to the victims of an armed robbery who said the suspects robbed them near Tulsa and N.W. 16th driving in a red Honda Civic. That's when officers realized the car matched the description of the one in the traffic stop, and the people inside ran off.

Air One spotted the car. Police also had a K9 unit. Thanks to that K9, one suspect, later identified as 18-year-old Audrey Smith, was taken into custody and taken to the hospital to be treated for dog bites. She has been treated and released from the hospital, and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.

Police also caught up to the other suspect, 17-year-old Charles Powell. Officers said Powell was the driver of the suspect car, and he threatened the victims with a gun during the robbery.

Police said the car the suspects were in had been reported stolen. Both suspects were arrested on a complaint of armed robbery with a firearm and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

When officers searched that red Honda Civic, they discovered a gun inside.
