High-Speed Pursuit Ends In Crash Near I-35, Indian Hills Rd.

Moore police are on the scene after a high-speed pursuit suspect crashed out near Interstate 35 and W. Indian Hills Rd. Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Michael Gears Jr., was driving in a stolen red pickup that happened to belong to an off-duty Oklahoma City police officer. The chase ended when Gears crashed the pickup in the area of 5700 E. Service Rd.

Police arrested Gears and confiscated two guns at the scene. It is unclear if those guns belonged to the off-duty officer.  

It was later learned that Gears was driving to make his court date at the Oklahoma County Courthouse.
