EDMOND, Oklahoma -

Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that has left one man fighting for his life.

Authorities say around 5 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a domestic call at 7317 Sandy Lane in Edmond. The victim said her boyfriend arrived at her home with a gun.

When police arrived on scene they established a perimeter, and were able to get the woman out of the home safely.

A short time later, authorities say the man came out of the home and pointed his gun at officers.

Edmond Police Department spokeswoman Jenny Monroe says the man refused an order to drop the weapon and the officers were forced to shoot.

The man was transported to OU Medical in critical condition.

Names of those involved have not been released.
