Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit By Pickup On I-40 In Canadian County

CANADIAN COUNTY, Oklahoma -

A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a pickup truck while he was walking on Interstate 40 in Canadian County, early Friday morning.

It happened at 2:45 a.m. on I-40 at US 81. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 48-year-old Richard Adams of El Reno, Oklahoma, was walking in the inside lane when he was struck by a pickup truck.

Adams was pronounced dead at the scene due to massive injuries. No one else was injured in the crash.

The cause of the crash has been listed as “pedestrian action” in the OHP collision report. Adams' condition at the time of the collision was listed as “impaired.”
