Silver Alert Canceled, Norman Woman Found Safe

The Silver Alert for a Norman woman has been canceled after authorities say they have safely located her. 

Just before 1:30 p.m., Norman Police said they found 84-year-old Joyce Carr. Carr had been reported missing Thursday morning, and relatives were concerned because they say she has dementia and did not do well in the heat.

Carr was reported last seen in the 1000 block of Biloxi Dr., and was safely located in the area of Robinson and Porter. Police say she was evaluated by EMSA before she was safely transported back home.

A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Norman woman last seen walking in a residential neighborhood Thursday morning.

Norman Police say 84-year-old Joyce Carr was seen on foot around 8:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Biloxi Dr., which is near the intersection of E. Lindsey St. and State Highway 77.

Carr is described as a white female, approximately 5' 3” tall and weighing 160 pounds. She has blonde and white hair and brown eyes. She may be carrying a large brown purse.

According to police, Carr has dementia and is known not to deal well with the heat. She is considered to be in imminent danger or death.
