For the third time in the last four seasons the Oklahoma softball team has at least three representatives on the NFCA Division I All-American teams, released Wednesday by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Seniors Lauren Chamberlain and Shelby Pendley were each named to the All-American first team, while freshman Paige Parker was selected to the All-American second team. Oklahoma was one of nine teams to have at least three All-Americans.

With her selection, Chamberlain joins former OU pitcher Keilani Ricketts as the only four-time All-Americans in Oklahoma history, as well as the only OU players to be named to the first team three times in a career.

Chamberlain was named to the All-American First Team in 2012, 2013 and 2015, while she was named to the third team in 2014 after back and knee injuries forced her to miss 25 games.

The NCAA's all-time home run record holder with 95, Chamberlain hit .399 this season with 23 home runs and tied Pendley for the team lead in runs batted in with 65. Chamberlain also led the team with 62 walks and a .589 on-base percentage. She hit 11 doubles, four triples and stole eight bases while playing in 56 of 58 games.

Through the Super Regional round last weekend, Chamberlain was third in the country in runs per game (1.29), fourth in slugging (.993) and walks per game (1.11), eighth in OBP, 10th in home runs and 11th in home runs per game (0.41).

Pendley is the seventh player in Oklahoma history to be named an All-American three times in a career, and she joins Chamberlain, Ricketts, Amber Flores and Heather Scaglione as the only Sooners to be named to the first team multiple times.

The 2015 Big 12 Player of the Year, Pendley led or tied for the team lead in several categories, including batting average (.413), hits (66), doubles (14), home runs (24), RBI (65) and total bases (152). Nationally, she is fifth in home runs, sixth in homers per game (0.44), seventh in slugging (.950), 10th in runs per game (1.20) and 17th in RBI per game (1.20).

In addition, Pendley provided valuable innings in the pitching circle. She went 12-1 on the season with a 2.33 earned run average and 64 strikeouts in 63 innings.

With her inclusion, Parker becomes the first OU freshman since Chamberlain in 2012 to earn All-America honors. Overall, Parker is the sixth freshman in school annals to be named an All-American.

Tabbed the NFCA Freshman of the Year Tuesday night, Parker went 28-7 with a 1.65 earned run average in 42 appearances, including 31 starts. She struck out 224 batters and walked only 57 in 217.0 innings of work while holding batters to a .170 batting average. Parker had nine solo shutouts this year, combined on six others and also made three saves in relief.

At the plate, Parker posted a .394 batting average on the year with five doubles, nine home runs and 43 runs batted in. She finished with a slugging percentage of .628 and an on-base percentage of .514.
