The Oklahoma City Dodgers notched a season-high 14 hits and scored five times with two outs, defeating the New Orleans Zephyrs, 6-4, Thursday night at Zephyr Field.

Six Dodgers finished with two hits, including Darnell Sweeney, who went 2-for-5, collected his league-leading 17th stolen base, and became the first Dodger this season to score three times in one game.

The Dodgers (23-11) overcame an early two-run deficit on their way to snapping a four-game losing streak. New Orleans jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning. With the bases empty and two outs, Reid Brignac doubled down the first base line. On the very next pitch, Vinny Rottino lined a single to center field to score Brignac and make it 1-0. Rottino's RBI single was the first hit Dodgers pitcher Randy Fontanez had allowed with a runner on base, as opponents had been 0-for-17.

The Zephyrs (17-16) extended their lead to 2-0 on the first pitch of the second inning, when Juan Diaz connected on his first home run of the season. It was also the first home run New Orleans had hit in their six meetings with the Dodgers this season.

The Dodgers scored three times in the fourth inning to take their first lead. With two outs, Sweeney hit a RBI single, and Austin Barnes followed with a go-ahead two-run double that made it 3-2.

However, the Zephyrs pulled even in the bottom of the inning. Rottino led off with a single and advanced to second base on a passed ball. With two down, Isaac Galloway doubled and tied the game, 3-3.

The Dodgers regained the lead in the fifth, again with two outs. Elliot Johnson roped a RBI single to give OKC a 4-3 advantage.

In the sixth, Corey Seager lined a RBI single to extend the lead to 5-3. Chris Heisey added a RBI single in the eighth to give the Dodgers their largest lead of the night.

The Zephyrs answered with a run in the bottom of the inning on a sac fly by Brady Shoemaker to pull within 6-4.

New Orleans would get no closer, as David Aardsma retired the side in order in the ninth inning to notch his 10th save of the season.

OKC Dodgers reliever Steve Smith picked up his third win of the season after working three scoreless innings. Smith (3-0) allowed three hits with no walks and three strikeouts.

New Orleans starting pitcher Adam Conley took the loss. Conley (3-2) gave up four runs and a season-high 10 hits over five innings. He struck out six and walked one.

The Dodgers meet the Zephyrs in the series finale and finish their eight-game road trip at 7 p.m. Friday night.
