Injury Crash Shuts Down Two Lanes On NB Hefner Parkway At NW 50th

Posted: Updated:
OKLAHOMA CITY -

First responders were called to the scene of an injury crash involving multiple vehicles on the northbound side of Lake Hefner Parkway, near the NW 50th St. exit, Thursday afternoon.

Authorities shut down two lanes of NB Hefner Parkway while crews worked the scene of the 7-car crash. Traffic in the area was moving smoothly again in all lanes shortly before 5 p.m.

The crash caused traffic in the area to be backed up for miles, from NW 50th St. all the way to I-40. The wreck even caused a backup on the southbound side of the parkway, where rubbernecking onlookers had traffic backed up for over two miles.

It is unclear how many people are injured or the severity of those injuries. EMSA has been called to the scene. At least one person has been transported from the scene to a local hospital.

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
