Oklahoma City police are searching for a man who held up two convenience stores early Thursday morning in Northwest Oklahoma City.

He is being called the “Circle-K Robber” since he robbed two of their stores in less than an hour.

The first store the thief hit was near NW 63rd and Santa Fe. It happened just after 5:30 a.m. when the store was empty. The clerk there tried to shut the register before the crook could grab any cash, but that's when he produced the gun.

The clerk told police the suspect was a black man in his late 20s or early 30s. He was wearing a black shirt, black rag on his head and grey basketball shorts. He also had white patches along his hands and mouth area – similar to the skin condition Michael Jackson had called vitiligo.

The clerk at the NW 122nd and May location gave the exact same description and also added the crook had tattoos along his knuckles. He hit that store just after 6 a.m.

Police released two snapshots of the suspect taken off the surveillance video at both locations.

The police report states there was a customer in the May Ave. store right before the 2nd hold up, but the suspect waited for him to leave so he could be alone with the clerk.

“He reached in started grabbing money,” said MSgt. Gary Knight, with the Oklahoma City Police Department. “There was a female behind the counter. She backed away very quickly. He took cash and fled from the store.”

Police say each time the suspect enters the store, he pretends to buy something like cigarettes or a pack of gum. And it's only when the clerk opens the register that this crook makes his move.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300.
