OKLAHOMA CITY -

A 14-year-old girl is recovering after a man attacked her in her home on Northwest 101st Street near Western Monday. Police say the teen went outside to pick up a package when the man rushed up to her and forced his way inside her home.

The 14-year-old was home alone around 2:30 p.m. Monday when she was brutally attacked.

“She just called me when I was at work, crying hysterically trying to tell me what was going on, and when she finally got it out, she said he raped her,” said the victim's mother.

A mother and a family are still in shock. The innocence of her oldest daughter was stolen inside her own home.

“Grabbing a package from the UPS man, and saw a guy coming from behind the car, and tried to hurry up and close the door and got the door closed and he just forced himself in,” she said.

The teen told her mother once inside she was beaten, held against her will, then sexually assaulted in their living room.

“It was a struggle, you know, there was stuff knocked over in my house,” she said.

Police say the man took off on foot, but the young teen was able to get a good look at her attacker. Tuesday morning, she helped police come up with a composite sketch.

“And we're hopeful that someone out there will recognize this man or have some information on this case that will help our detectives,” said Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow, OCPD.

“It's very scary, because it could happen to anybody,” said neighbor Joyce Ipaye.

Meanwhile a neighborhood full of families and young children sit in fear until the perpetrator is caught.

“Scared, devastated,” said neighbor Tonya Gordon. “Because that didn't make no sense. How do you protect your kids?”

“What kind of person would do that,” said the victim's mother. “It's a sick person, that's all.”

Police are actively looking for a black male around 31-years-old, 6 feet tall and weighing 215 lbs. with a muscular build, a beard about four inches long and short black hair.

If you recognize the man in the composite sketch, or have any information that would help lead police to the suspect, call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300.
