CHICKASHA, Oklahoma -

Police are investigating three separate attacks on an 84-year-old grandmother over the weekend.

Officers were called to the woman's home in the 400 block of S. Iowa for an attempted break-in, a stabbing and arson early Sunday morning.

She first called police for help when she heard someone breaking into her home. Police say it appeared as though someone had removed the window air-conditioning unit in an attempt to get in the home. An intruder was not found in the home at that time.

Not an hour later, the woman called 911 again. She reported to police that someone had stabbed her in the back while she was talking to her grandson at the front door.

"It seems someone has an agenda with this lady," said Shanon McClain, Chickasha's Interim Police Chief.

Then, while the elderly woman was at the emergency room, police say they received calls from her neighbors reporting someone had set her house on fire. The house was fully engulfed when firefighters and investigators arrived to the home. McClain said officers detected an odor of gasoline possibly used as an accelerant.

McClain said these crimes are especially egregious considering the age of the victim.

"They [elderly] are looking to us for help and often times they can't help themselves, so we act as their agent and make sure we seek justice in these cases."

If you have any information about this case, call Chickasha Police at (405) 224-8477.
