Red Cross Opens Overnight Shelter In Shawnee

SHAWNEE, Oklahoma -

 The American Red Cross opened an evacuation site in Shawnee at the First Baptist Church at 227 North Union.

Red Cross volunteers said homes are being evacuated near a dam close to cresting. The site will be in the fellowship hall north entrance. 

Late Friday evening, the evacuation center became an overnight shelter.

After midnight, the American Red Cross opened an emergency shelter at the Henryetta Civic Center at 115 S. 4th in Henryetta, Ok. due to flooding concerns.
