Oklahoma Co. Bridge Closed, Latest Round Of Rain Threatens River Levels

 Officials in Oklahoma County said the Wilshire Avenue bridge over the North Canadian River between Choctaw and Indian Meridian Roads in eastern Oklahoma County are closed Friday as the latest round of rain threatens to rise river levels again.

The bridge was barricaded after the initial round of storms Wednesday night after rising water inundated the roadway and reached dangerous levels near the bridge decking. County crews reportedly continued to monitor water levels. The bridge will remain closed as long as necessary, officials said, to assure public safety.
