Metro flooding is causing problems for some homeowners.

A family in Harrah believes the rain is the reason they had sewage backing up into their home.

It's definitely not something you want to come home to. Homeowner Donald Fritts said he walked into his house and stepped into more than three inches of raw sewage.

“It's going to be a mess all day, all night, and for the next couple of days,” said Fritts.

Fritts has spent the last three years remodeling his 1920's home off N. First Street. He never expected he would have start over.

“I come home from the airport last night, and I hear running water. I come in here and open the door and all I see is three inches of running water,” said Fritts.

Raw sewage rushed into his home for hours. Donald believed the mess was because of a clogged sewage line.

“From right here, I just take off running in here and I look right here, the toilet is just majorly just like a water fall flowing out of there going nuts,” said Fritts. “And I was like, what's going on, what's going on.”

“We heard a lot of bubbling noises,” said neighbor Lanesia Osborne. “That's not really normal.”

Donald's neighbor Lanesia had the same problem.

“We went in here and checked and it was a whole bunch of nasty water in the bathtub and the toilet,” said Osborne.

Lanesia said her husband was able to take the cap off their sewage pipe outside to release the pressure.

“Just in time, just in time, because it was filling up pretty fast. The whole house would have been flooded,” said Osborne.

“As you can tell, you can see where the water stains came all the way up to here,” said Fritts.

Donald said all the water eventually seeped through the wood floors and under the house.

“You can't expect something like this to happen to you when you've worked so hard to do something right in your life to make it good,” said Fritts.

News 9 talked to a Public Works crew while at Donald's home. They said they have unclogged that sewage pipe and there shouldn't be any more nasty backups.
