More storms and heavy rains will move across the area Thursday afternoon and into the evening. The severe weather threat looks to be on the low side due to the cloud cover and lack of energy in the atmosphere today.

Still, we can't rule out some quarter to golf ball size hail with some gusty winds with some of the strongest storms.

The tornado threat looks to remain on the low side with the chance of severe weather being higher across southern Oklahoma towards the Red River. The biggest concern will likely be flash flooding as the ground is already saturated across lots of central Oklahoma.

Later this evening and overnight the cluster of showers and thunderstorms will continue to move off to the east. We'll continue with a chance of a few showers and thunderstorms overnight but they'll be plenty of dry areas overnight.

Like we've been saying all week long, this was just the start of a stretch of severe weather days. Friday and Saturday could be two very big days for severe weather across Oklahoma with plenty ingredients coming together.

Now, just like every severe weather event, things can change and hopefully they do. However, with a strong jet stream overhead, plenty of moisture in the air and strong turning of the winds with height to promote rotating thunderstorms.

We're looking at thunderstorms capable of producing baseball size hail, damaging winds and tornadoes. Some of the tornadoes could be strong and long lived both Friday and Saturday afternoons. So please take the time this evening to get with the family and make sure you have your severe weather plan in place.
