Several roads and/or bridges are closed Thursday afternoon in Oklahoma County, due to damage from Wednesday night's storms and rising water.

According to County Commissioner Brian Maughan, Dobbs Road north of S.E. 29th is closed for as long as one week due to a major pavement washout.

The Wilshire Avenue bridge over the North Canadian River between Choctaw Road and Indian Meridian Road was closed at mid-morning due to rising water, which has begun to inundate the roadway and threatens to overflow the bridge.

Officials said they will continue to monitor water levels along the Canadian River and take appropriate action to protect the public if needed.

In Oklahoma City, as of 1 p.m.. interstate highways were mostly open by late Thursday morning, the state Transportation Department reported.

Northbound Interstate 235 is closed at Harrison Avenue due to mud on the roadway. Interstate 44 off-ramps at S.W. 149th are now opened.

Traffic on Interstate 35 in south Oklahoma City is moving slowly. Crews are repairing and replacing damaged signs.
