An Oklahoma City woman had serious damage to her home and car from Tuesday night's storm and it could not have come at a worse time.

Bessie Baker has not slept since the storm hit.

“I heard a whoooom, whoooom, whooooom,” Baker exclaimed.

The 82-year-old's home and car are pinned under a downed tree.

“Then all at once, I heard, ‘vroooooooom,' and I said, ‘Oh, my God, the tornado hit the house,'” Baker explained.

It was not a tornado, but the powerful winds were not any less forgiving.

“I looked out here and I see the other tree and I said, ‘Oh my God.'” Baker told News 9.

The old tree broke her car windshield, damaged the home guttering and some windows. It may have done more structural damage, but it's too hard to tell with the tree in the way.

“I haven't been to sleep all night, I've just been sitting back there in the den trying to figure out what's next,” Baker said.

Baker is sleepless because she got very sick recently, needed money and had to make a tough choice between paying medical bills or home insurance. She decided to drop the home insurance just six months ago.

“Oh, you know, something will come along, something will happen,” said Baker. “It looks bad now, but it doesn't have to look bad always,” she added.

The storm caused a lot of tree damage as it rolled through Oklahoma City. Crews are trimming down the trees that have fallen onto power lines.

Baker hopes some help comes along to cut down on her stress.

“Whenever it rains, there is always sunshine behind it,” she added.

Baker said she has lived here for 40 years and has never had anything like this happen before.
