Oklahoma City police are looking for a man who robbed a northwest Oklahoma City convenience store at gunpoint last month. And it was all caught on camera.

There are cameras both inside and outside the Express Discount Grocery store located in the 700 block of W. Britton. Rd. The owner says he's never been robbed in the four years he's been there. That is until last week. The thief made his move right before the store closed.

Surveillance cameras catch him wearing a red bandana, black hat and grey hoodie with red gloves on his hands. They also catch a glimpse of his pistol.

The suspect ordered the store's owner to the ground, pointing the gun at him the entire time. The store owner remained calm and tried to cooperate as the thief went for the register. However, he is disappointed with what he finds inside.

The suspect kept asking the owner where the hundred dollar bills were, but the owner told him his brother just took the deposit. So the thief asked for the owner to hand over all the cash in his wallet in addition to the money in the register.

But as the thief tried to get away, the owner pressed a button under the counter and locked the door. Surveillance video shows the thief struggle, trying to get out.

“It's my instinct. I can't just let somebody go like that,” said Mohammed Rashid. “I have to stop it. I have to do something.”

But the thief was not amused and threatened the owner's life.

“He came back towards me and said ‘Open it or I'll shoot you,'” said Rashid. “I said ‘OK'. So I open it and he went back and I locked it again.”

Finally, Rashid decides it's not worth his life and he unlocked the door, allowing the thief to get away.

Rashid had hoped he could keep the crook in the store until police could arrive, but his panic alarm never sounded.

Rashid thinks the man who robbed him has been a customer before, but he doesn't know his name. Rashid says got away with less than a hundred dollars.

Rashid says the crook is also fortunate that he got out alive. He says he usually has a gun at the store for protection and it's usually within reach.

If you recognize that person in the video you are urged to call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235- 7300.
