Driver In Crash That Killed Metro Boy, 6, Bonds Out Of Texas Jail

Officials with the Callahan County Sheriff's Office in Texas said Kelly Corn turned himself in Saturday morning around 8:30 a.m.

 Officials with the Callahan County Sheriff's Office in Texas said Kelly Corn turned himself in Saturday morning around 8:30 a.m. Authorities said Corn saw a magistrate and bonded out. His bond amount was $111,500. 

Authorities with the sheriff's office in Texas told News 9 Corn's father is a judge in Callahan County. 

Callahan County Sheriff's officials said their cameras were down Saturday, so Corn was booked without a mugshot.

Corn is accused of crashing into a vehicle in a parking lot near Pennsylvania and Memorial on April 5, and then leaving the scene headed in the wrong direction on the Kilpatrick Turnpike. On the turnpike, authorities said Corn crashed into a vehicle, killing a 6-year-old boy and critically injuring others.

Court documents filed Friday said Corn, 44, faces complaints of Second Degree Murder or in the alternative First Degree Murder, two complaints of Causing an Accident Resulting in Great Bodily Injury while Driving under the Influence, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving an Unattended Vehicle.
